My Story
My love for teaching and for early childhood education has found me in the ideal profession as a teacher in the York Region District School Board. I had the opportunity to work as a Designated Early Childhood Educator in the initial phase of Full-Day Kindergarten and as a Full-Day Kindergarten Teacher for seven years. I am currently in my second year of teaching Grade One, where I strive to incorporate play and inquiry into the curriculum. I constantly challenge myself to become a better teacher and facilitator through networking, workshops, and courses. I had the opportunity to co-facilitate the Kindergarten Additional Qualification course through York University, which I received my Specialist for in Spring of 2014. I have also acted as a demonstration classroom for YRDSB during my teaching in FDK and Grade One, as well as worked as a Regional Teacher for Building Blocks for Kindergarten during my summers. I was inspired by my colleagues, my loved ones, and my love for children to create this blog in hopes to inspire others during their own journey! A special thanks to my husband, Shaz Lym, for designing my logo and motivating me to share my work with others.
